I believe profoundly in the educative value of interpretive discussion for all members of the
Focus Group, especially when the law is its nascent stage of implementation. I also believe that
experts at every level and stage of their profession can enrich and strengthen their skills by
learning from the discussion leading trends and cases prevailing in the industry and profession.
We are witnessing unprecedented time which necessitate each professional
to upscale his/her learning to keep pace with the development in the region.
Through the newsletter we conceptualized the intellectual foundations
of members perspective with elaborated pedagogy and impact on
industry as a way forward to strengthen our profession’s image in the UAE.
This is one of the initiatives to encourage your interest in writing your
views taking inspiration from the members who contributed to this newsletter. It takes a lot
of courage and efforts to emanate your perspective which others may comprehend easily.
The rapid changes to regulatory framework in the UAE impact the way business and international
trade used to take place. The new changing regulations poses new challenges to the existing economic
framework, since small distortions due to differing sets of regulations and taxation between countries
might grow to non-negligible dimensions. Through this newsletter we tried to discuss the necessary
considerations on the tax treatment, impact, and factors to watch while you organize your business.
Its no more a surprise that regulatory compliance will continue to embrace across
the GCC region in near future, our expert’s perspective on key tax matters reinforcing
the need for consistent, pragmatic, multi-dimensional, learnings to stay relevant.

Dear Members,
This is a great initiative by CA Manoj Agarwal to launch the first Tax Journal for the benefit
of our members of The ICAI Tax and Compliance Focus Group. I know that there is a long
way to go but this is the beginning.
During these tough times, Manoj, Malvika and Amit Khaitan have taken this unique
initiative to keep in touch with the members and share ideas of our members towards
business efficiencies and tax and other current issues. Looking forward active
participation of more members in future.
