hours, where 202 speakers shared their knowledge and our happiness increases more, as our fellow
members who had addressed us is 112. Our magical and unmatchable gratitude to all our speakers and
you as members wherein your continuous interest and encouragement made this possible.
We touched almost every topic which includes topics such as digital transformation, risk management,
IFRS, start-ups, and latest regulatory changes, to name a few. But we did not stop there, we also worked
with you to bring out your talent through organising music and dance competition within ourselves.
Our sincere gratitude to Shri Vipul, Dr. Shri Aman Puri (Consul General of India to Dubai) and Shri
Neeraj Agarwal for all their support and encouragement and to help our countrymen during COVID by
collecting and utilising funds collected from members to feed needy people, organising flight tickets for
our members & their families and recently, creating a financial counselling group wherein our members
contribute by giving their expertise to solve the financial difficulties of the entrepreneurs and people
who are struggling with debt issues.
The theme of the conference, “Leadership by Passion- The Best from The Rest” was chosen by us
as we have so many examples in front of us who are just not leading with titles, but they have passion
to achieve something extraordinary, to think out of the box which brings unbelievable results. I have
experienced this myself in last 7 years and all the speakers of the conference are testimony to this
theme.
Our speakers today are from different walks of life. The passionate stories of our speakers today have
made me remember, few such inspirational stories of our members including Himanshu Bakshi and
Leena Prajapati, who we had hosted, not very long ago. They had beaten all the odds and emerged as a
winner, which has become inspiration for many of us.
The full-fledged preparations of our annual conference started around a month back and with the
grace of god we have been able to reach here where we are interacting with you.
The world today is rapidly changing, more unpredictably and with countless shifts particularly
technologically and economically. With change comes disruption. The rules we once considered
as principles of life and perceptions of right and wrong as clear cut are all being tested. The role of
Accountant is going through a major shift and together we will work towards countering all the
challenges ahead. Chartered accountants of India have very incredible and important role to play for
making sure that our organizations succeed.
I am confident that if you lead your organisation passionately, no one can stop you from succeeding
exceptionally.
Let me conclude with a beautiful quote by Mother Teresa where she said, ‘Not all of us can do great
things, but we can do small things with great love.’ Myself and my colleagues in the managing committee
are doing small things to create a good/ great experience for all of us. I do not know if I am just leading
or leading by Passion, but I am certain that I am passionate about the Chapter and my ICAI, my alma
mater and I want my ICAI to be the Best from the Rest.
Regards,
CA Anish Mehta
Chairman ICAI (Dubai) Chapter NPIO
