Message

Chairman’s Souvenir Message

I say this very often and I will say again today that - Success is not just the hard work but a combination
of many other factors and each factor contributes to the success of our Chapter and its members.

The Chapter has made tremendous progress in its journey of last 38 years. I am privileged to be part of
the managing committee for last 7 years and each year has been an amazing experience and learning
at every big/ small juncture. Leading the largest overseas chapter of our institute, makes me feel very
proud and when I recollect that ICAI is the premier accounting body in the world, the proud multiples
significantly. My deepest gratitude to the great rulers and people of the United Arab Emirates for the
opportunities given to us to grow and advance in this land of immense opportunities.

In our karamboomi, the country where we live and work- UAE, we are celebrating this year as the Year
of preparation for the Country’s next 50 years and we pay our hearty tributes to the founding father
of the UAE - Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and all the rulers of UAE.

I am very thankful to ICAI leaderships and all Past Chairmen of our chapter and managing committee
with whom I have worked in various capacities. I place my sincere thanks to my parents, my wife, and
children to support me whole -heartedly in discharging my duties to the best of my abilities.

When we started with our roles and responsibilities in September 2019, we had set, some targets. The
key initiative was to dedicate this year as “#YearOfMembers’ and “#LoveForLearning” and undertake
various initiatives which were not limited to increase in participation but also increasing engagement
of members by contributing through their learning & experiences. One of the good achievements is
creation of 7 focus groups through which we achieved sharing of learning and developed the training
and soft skills of our members.

With your whole-hearted support, we could host wonderful physical events until February 2020 but
then pandemic forced us to shift our energies and in no time, we transformed and adopted technology
and did the required transformation by hosting online events.

Since October 2019 when I took as Chairman, our team did 11 technical events (physical),37 Online
events, 22 Focus group meetings, 2 study tours, 2 sports events, 5 social cultural events (including
celebration of Gandhi Jayanti by participating in Walk for Peace, celebration of republic day at
consulate and celebration of Independence Day), and 5 CSR events. We have been able to create 165
