Workshop on Pathways to ICAEW Membership – 4 November 2020
In partnership with ICAI, ICAEW offer a route into ICAEW membership through the pathway scheme
for those with over five year of full ICAI Membership. Members of ICAI Dubai Chapter actively
participated the online workshop which gave a discussion on ICAEW membership, application details
and the ways that ICAEW can support the members. The workshop was led by the Chairmen of Middle
East Chapters.

Phir Se Dhamaal! Live on Zoom – 11 November 2020

ICAI Dubai Chapter celebrated Diwali by organizing a wonderful session for the members and their
families. Live via ZOOM, the celebration was filled with singing and dancing performances by Ms.
Sugandha Mishra and launching of members’ initiative ‘Creative Cookbook’. To make the celebration
more special, ICAI Dubai Chapter also arranged a gift hamper for its members which was delivered
directly to their homes, another opportunity to bring joy to everyone. THE BEST PICTURE contest
was introduced by the chapter in which members took their photo with their family while holding
the gift they received from the chapter. The celebration ended with a game of tambola which saw
participation by a large number of members.

Outlook on Indian Markets - Is it the right to invest? – 18 November 2020
In association with HDFC Bank and AGP World, another interesting session was held on 18 November
2020 led by Mr. Prashant Jain, Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer, HDFC Mutual Fund.
A timely question – Is it the right time to invest? was the focus of the session which received a good
feedback from members who participated the event. CPE: 2 Hours

FINANCIAL CRIME RISK - Changing landscape of AML and its compliance
– 12 December 2020

In coordination of CA Rajiv Hira, a session on Financial Crime Risk - Changing landscape of AML
and its compliance was organized for ICAI Dubai members. The session was led by speakers - CA.
Nishanth Nottath, Senior Anti Financial Crime Professional, Mr. Aziz Mahdi, Banking Professional -
Compliance Risk and Mr. Pramod Sharma, Founder & CEO, Intellewings with their topics - Insights
from an experienced banker on Financial Crime Risk, Developments in the regulatory landscape and
AML / CFT compliance, using technology, and search engines. CPE: 2 Hours

ESR – Let’s Get Substantive - Notification and Annual Reporting

– 19 December 2020

Another session on Economic Substance Regulations was held on 19 December led by CA Hanumantha
Kumar and CA Jai Prakash Agarwal and moderated by CA Manoj Agarwal. The session focused on
topics - Recent Developments on Notification & Annual Return and Simplifying Filing Requirements.

The session was participated by more than 500 members. CPE: 2 Hours
