• Excise Tax - The Bitter Side of Sweetness – 16 November 2019
Focus Group on Tax & Compliance held its first session with a title “The Bitter Side of Sweetness”
participated by 48 members. The session was facilitated by CA Nandan Bendarkar, Managing
Director, MBK Auditing and Mr. Nitesh Bhalla, Research & Development Leader, IFFCO Group.
This focus group is being led by CA Manoj Agarwal with the support of CA Amit Khaitan and CA
Malavika Kolera.
• Encoded by FTA and Decoded by CAs – POS Rules and VAT on Services – 21 December 2019
A session on “Encoded by FTA and Decoded by CAs- POS rules and VAT on Services” was organized
by Tax and Compliance Focus Group headed by CA Pankaj Jain, Managing Director, AskPankaj
DWC LLC. Event was completely interactive where members including past Chairman CA Naveen
Sharma was also present and he shared his views on Tax on Services. The session was participated
by 93 members.
• Economic Substance Regulations (ESR) and CbCR – 24 January 2020
A third session was held on 24 January 2020 and focused on Economic Substance Regulations
(ESR) and CbCR. The session was led by CA Manu Nair, CEO, Emirates Chartered Accountants
and CA Akshay Patwa, Accounting Manager, Real Emirates LLC and marked an attendance of 73
members.
