As the tax environment continue to speakers took questions from the
evolve in UAE as indicated by various attendees and it was a very interactive
clarifications/guidelines issued by event.
the Federal Tax Authority, ICAI Dubai
Chapter organized this very relevant
session to update the members on
excise tax law and share some of
the practical aspects on VAT audits
conducted by the authorities and the
resulting VAT litigation due to that.

CA Nirav Shah, Director, Fame
Advisory took the first session and
spoke about the Tax audits and his
recent experiences on VAT litigation.
Next session was joined conducted
by CA Umang Garg, Finance Manager,
Kaane American International Tobacco
Co Ltd and CA Gaurav Chugani, Tax
Manager, Anderson, on the Excise
Tax law where they focussed on
sharing some of the practical aspects
in managing excisable products. The
