His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan
Minister of Tolerance & Coexistence
His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan is the Minister of State for Tolerance, which was
announced in October 2017. His Excellency joined the Federal Government in 1992. He held several
positions in the Federal Government including the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific
Research, the Minister of Education and the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.
In addition to his ministerial duties, His Excellency had previously served in many positions in national
universities. H.E. was the Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University since 1983 to 2013, the
Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology from 1988 to 2013 and the President of Zayed
University from 1998 to 2013.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan received his education from the British Millfield
School until secondary school before joining the Magdalen College at Oxford University - UK.
