To begin, let me share the details of various events, activities, and accomplishments that have taken place
during the first half of my tenure as Chairman, which spans from April 1 to September 30 , 2023. These

accomplishments align with the chapter's vision for the year, as outlined below:

• Conducted 10 major events, organized 14 days of Master Classes, and hosted 4 Focus Group Events.
• Achieved an average of 121 CPE (Continuing Professional Education) hours per member, with an
average of 20 CPE hours per member per month.
• Engaged 1,646 unique members in these CPE events, representing 60% of our membership.
• Submitted a total of 34,879 CPE hours by the chapter for our members.
• Over 500 members participated in sports events, with 100 members receiving awards.
• Witnessed a historic moment as 900 members and their families participated in Independence Day
celebrations with an Onam Sadhya feast.
• Organized a poetry event dedicated to "Bemisaal Sahir", a tribute to the life and work of Sahir
Ludhianvi.
• Successfully conducted two study tours to Kerala and Pattaya.
• Undertook meaningful CSR initiatives, including the distribution of Iftaar meals during Ramadan and
organizing Blood Donation and Tree Plantation programs on CA Day, July 1, 2023.
• Maintained an active engagement with the chapter for a total of 48 days during the first half of the
year 2023.
• Maintained a 60% engagement rate among paid members and welcomed 330 new members during the
same period.

The United Arab Emirates and the Middle East region are currently experiencing significant changes in
their tax regulations. The ICAI community has played a crucial role in the GCC, facilitating a smooth
transition and ensuring compliance within this evolving economic landscape. It is inspiring to see that the
ICAI Dubai Chapter taking the lead in enhancing the skills of its members and preparing them for the
UAE Corporate Tax laws enacted by the UAE Government. The Chapter has also organized a series of
informative Masterclasses and conferences on UAE Corporate Tax Law and Transfer Pricing, featuring
distinguished speakers who have covered a wide range of topics in this field.

I invite you to explore the updates presented in this newsletter and to stay actively involved with us.
Together, we will continue to make a positive impact not only on our chapter but also beyond. Our shared
pursuit of knowledge and growth benefits all of us. I eagerly look forward to the continued participation of
each one of you in the upcoming events organized by the Managing Committee of The ICAI Dubai
Chapter. I am thankful to the entire Managing Committee for all their efforts in organizing these events. I
would also like to express my gratitude to all our Former Chairmen for their guidance and extend my
thanks to all our Sponsors for their unwavering support to the ICAI Dubai Chapter.
